FESTIVE food fans can look forward to loosening their belts for a good cause this month. Sandringham Lions Club will sell more than 1000 Christmas cakes and puddings as part of its annual festive fundraiser.
The organisation hopes to raise around $6000 by selling 1650 of the traditional treats at Bendigo Community Bank in Sandringham.
The club began making and selling Christmas cakes and puddings more than 46 years ago as a way to raise funds for the community.
The baked goods continue to be made to the same recipes today, but a commercial baker helps out now.
